Obama and Holder taking on Arizona's SB1070

Simpicity of the Federal Reserve... We are in BIG TROUBLE

So the Federal Government has let the cat out of the bag as to why they are so inept at using the Fed as an arm of the Federal Government to manage inflation and unemployment.  They seem to be under the simplistic assumption that those are both managed through use of the banking system and control of the Fed Funds Rate.

On the San Francisco Feds website under education they have a game you can play that will allow you to gain insight into their massively complex world.   What a joke but probably more true than we would like to think.   Here is the "educational" link.   Fed Chairman Game  If you then go to the New York Feds website and get the history of the fed funds rate for the past 4 years you can play the game with the benefit of all their wisdom during the past four years. History of Fed Fund Rates  I downloaded that history and found we have been at a targeted rate of .25% for almost 3 years.   We have had a .25% fed funds rate since December 18, 2008 or nearly 3 years now and in the year preceding that they were dropping it like crazy from 4.5% to .25% in a futile attempt to gain control of the economy with the mistaken impression that they do control it through their monetary policy.  Never mind government spending, consumer confidence, demographics of 300 million people in a world of 6 billion, all they have to do is play with some interest rates and they can take control.

I then played the game with a 0% fed funds rate for 4 years which is the limit of the games model time periods and we were at 1.5% unemployment and 27.88% inflation.   I then went back and put in .25% for the entire 4 years and came to the same 1.5% unemployment but inflation after 3 years, which is where we are right now, was 23.21% and after 4 years of the policies we are now following the inflation rate was 38.75%.

Well we know they exclude food and energy from the CPI now and I can tell you that I have observed very high inflation in food prices.  Probably something to do with raising corn for ethanol rather than food or some other absurd government policies from the departments of energy or agriculture.  We don't know the real rate of inflation or the real rate of unemployment,  but I can tell you we are not being told the truth in either case.   I believe unemployment is much closer to 20% if you consider all the under employed and those who have just given up.   As for inflation, I have no idea what the real number is, but I am confident the published numbers are materially inaccurate.  Thus according to the feds own modeling we should have 1.5% unemployment and 38.75% inflation by this time next year.  I will not be surprised if they are half right (the inflation projection) but we will never know based upon official statistics because they are not honest in that reporting.   And if this "educational" web site is any indication of their modeling abilities it is no wonder why we are floundering with no idea how to fix America's problems let alone the worlds problems.

Buckle up America, this is going to be a rough ride to the bottom

Idea for Christmas Gifts

As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods and merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American jobs

Yet this year can be different.

This year Americans can give the gift of genuine concern for others. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands.

Yes there is, so think outside the box!

Who says a gift needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper? EVERYONE gets their hair cut, so how about gift certificates from your local hair salon or barber?

Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about health improvement.

Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Local car wash shops would love to sell you a gift certificate or a book of gift certificates that will last for months.

Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plonking down the Benjamines on a Chinese made flat-screen TV? Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would prefer his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or lessons at the local golf course instead.

There are a tons of restaurants offering gift certificates. And, if your preference isn't the fancy eatery, what about a half dozen breakfast gift cards at the local IHOP?

This is about supporting your home town -- Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep the doors of their businesses open.

How many people could use an oil change for their car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by our neighbors? How about pest control services? Get the point?

Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? How about the services of a local cleaning lady for a day.

Planning a holiday dinner? How about going to a local restaurant with the family, and leaving your server a nice tip. It will be nice to leave the cooking to others, so that we can have a good time.

And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at your hometown theater? Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.

Honestly, do we REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese lights for the lawn during the holidays? If you have those kinds of bucks to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip to show your appreciation for their help all year long.

Christmas is no longer about draining our pockets so that China can build another glittering city. Christmas is about caring for us, and encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams.

When we care about others, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine.

So, donate to your church, feed the homeless, or start any other tradition of giving during Christmas, but let's keep it going hroughout the entire year for we are blessed.

God bless~

Top 12 Reasons to be a Liberal

When your "friends" cannot explain why they're liberals, give them this list. They can then pick their reasons from this "TOP 12"...

1. I'm a liberal because I believe oil companies'profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

2. I'm a liberal because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

3. I'm a liberal because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

4. I'm a liberal because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

5. I'm a liberal because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

6. I'm a liberal because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

7. I'm a liberal because I think illegal aliens have a right to free healthcare, education and Social Security benefits.

8. I'm a liberal because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the bureaucrats see fit.

9. I'm a liberal because I believe radical judges appointed by Carter, Ford, Clinton and Obama need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

10. I'm a liberal because I think that it's better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, But not drill our own vast reserves because it might upset some endangered beetle or gopher.

11. I'm a liberal because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world, I was promised "HOPE AND CHANGE."

12. I'm a liberal because my mind is so firmly set, it's unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view. Politically, nobody is more illiberal than a "liberal."

Our Divisive President

Our Divisive President

Barack Obama promised a new era of post-partisanship. In office, he's played racial politics and further split the country along class and party lines.

During the election campaign, Barack Obama sought to appeal to the best instincts of the electorate, to a post-partisan sentiment that he said would reinvigorate our democracy. He ran on a platform of reconciliation—of getting beyond "old labels" of right and left, red and blue states, and forging compromises based on shared values.
President Obama's Inaugural was a hopeful day, with an estimated 1.8 million people on the National Mall celebrating the election of America's first African-American president. The level of enthusiasm, the anticipation and the promise of something better could not have been more palpable.
And yet, it has not been realized. Not at all.
Rather than being a unifier, Mr. Obama has divided America on the basis of race, class and partisanship. Moreover, his cynical approach to governance has encouraged his allies to pursue a similar strategy of racially divisive politics on his behalf.
Associated Press
The 'Beer Summit': President Barack Obama, right, and Vice President Joe Biden, left, have a beer with Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., second from left, and Cambridge, Mass. police Sgt. James Crowley in the Rose Garden of the White House, July 30, 2009.
We have seen the divisive approach under Republican presidents as well—particularly the administrations of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. By dividing America, Mr. Obama has brought our government to the brink of a crisis of legitimacy, compromising our ability to address our most important policy issues.
William McGurn discusses the Democrats' novel strategy for the fall elections.
We say this with a heavy heart. Both of us share the president's stated vision of what America can and should be. The struggle for equal rights has animated both of our lives. Both of us were forged politically during the crucible of the civil rights movement. Having worked in the South during the civil rights movement, and on behalf of the ground-breaking elections of African-American mayors such as David Dinkins, Harold Washington and Emanuel Cleaver, we were deeply moved by Mr. Obama's election.
The first hint that as president Mr. Obama would be willing to interject race into the political dialogue came last July, when he jumped to conclusions about the confrontation between Harvard Prof. Henry Louis "Skip" Gates and the Cambridge police.
During a press conference, the president said that the "Cambridge police acted stupidly," and he went on to link the arrest with the "long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately."
In truth, the Gates incident appears to have had nothing to do with race—a Cambridge review committee that investigated the incident ruled on June 30 that there was fault on both sides.
Sen. Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) has said the president told him in a closed-door meeting that he would not move to secure the border with Mexico unless and until Congress reached a breakthrough on comprehensive immigration reform. That's another indication Mr. Obama is willing to continue to play politics with hot-button issues.
Add in the lawsuit against the Arizona immigration law and it's clear the Obama administration is willing to run the risk of dividing the American people along racial and ethnic lines to mobilize its supporters—particularly Hispanic voters, whose backing it needs in the fall midterm elections and beyond.
As the Washington Post reported last week, two top White House strategists, speaking on condition of anonymity, have indicated that "the White House plans to use the immigration debate to punish the GOP and aggressively seek the Latino vote in 2012."
On an issue that has gotten much less attention, but is potentially just as divisive, the Justice Department has pointedly refused to prosecute three members of the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation at the polls on Election Day 2008.
It is the job of the Department of Justice to protect all American voters from voter discrimination and voter intimidation—whether committed by the far right, the far left, or the New Black Panthers. It is unacceptable for the Department of Justice to continue to stonewall on this issue.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, Mr. Obama's campaign emphasized repeatedly that his minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was being unfairly stereotyped because of racially incendiary sound bites that allegedly did not reflect the totality of his views. In the Gates incident and others, Mr. Obama has resorted to similar forms of stereotyping.
Even the former head of the Civil Rights Commission, Mary Frances Berry, acknowledged that the Obama administration has taken to polarizing America around the issue of race as a means of diverting attention away from other issues, saying: "the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. . . . Having one's opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness."
The president had a unique opportunity to focus on overarching issues of importance to whites and blacks. He has failed to address the critical challenges. He has not used his bully pulpit to emphasize the importance of racial unity and the common interest of poor whites and blacks who need training, job opportunities, and the possibility of realizing the American Dream. He hasn't done enough to address youth unemployment—which in the white community is 23.2% and in the black community is 39.9%.
Mr. Obama has also cynically divided the country on class lines. He has taken to playing the populist card time and time again. He bashes Wall Street and insurance companies whenever convenient to advance his programs, yet he has been eager to accept campaign contributions and negotiate with these very same banks and corporations behind closed doors in order to advance his political agenda.
Finally, President Obama also exacerbated partisan division, and he has made it clear that he intends to demonize the Republicans and former President George W. Bush in the fall campaign. In April, the Democratic National Committee released a video in which the president directly addressed his divide-and-conquer campaign strategy, with an appeal to: "young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again."

President Obama's divisive approach to governance has weakened us as a people and paralyzed our political culture. Meanwhile, the Republican leadership has failed to put forth an agenda that is more positive, unifying or inclusive. We are stronger when we debate issues and purpose, and we are all weaker when we divide by race and class. We will pay a price for this type of politics.
Mr. Caddell served as a pollster for President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Schoen, who served as a pollster for President Bill Clinton, is the author of "The Political Fix" (Henry Holt, 2010).

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name  the five wealthiest people in the  world.

2. Name  the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name  the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4  Name  ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the

best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials, the most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones

who care the most

Suicide of America

Richard DLamm, a democrat, served as governor of Colorado for 12 years from 1975 to 1987.  This is a speech he gave in 2004.   So how are we doing?  I think we have added a lot more to it just for good measure and to be sure to completely destroy America.  Add a bankrupt Federal, state and local government with half of all government employees unionized making twice the private sector total compensation when you consider pensions and benefits.  Then combine those unions with socialist, communist and far left activist organizations to add fire to their protests of unfairness and I think you have it done.

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:

'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put itis way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada , Belgium , Malaysia , and Lebanon all face crises of national e xistence in which minorities press for autonomy , if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

Lamm went on:

'Second, to destroy America , invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

'Third, we could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentriy and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to en sure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority plation.'

'My sixth plan for America 's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precet. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games.. A common enemy, Persia , threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the 'Unum,' we will 'Balkanize' America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-cultum, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America , it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America . If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

If you care for and love our country as I do, take the time to pass this on just as I did for you.

NOTHING is going to happen if you don't!

don't usually do these for reasons many of you know but what the heck. It seems legit and while I do have an opinion on cancer research effectiveness this is an easy way to help them raise money to further a researchers career anyway. If nothing else I will do it for Judy Rice. So here is to the memory of Judy.

Immigration Corruption and Criminal Aliens

Watch this video.  Never been that much of a follower of the NRA but I think we now have to choose to support those who support our original constitutional rights against an onslaught from progressives who want to take away our original constitutional rights in return for social welfare which they like to call social justice, what they call the second bill of rights to
  • Employment, with a living wage,
  • Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies,
  • Housing,
  • Medical care,
  • Education, and,
  • Social security
Each and everyone of these are merely Government indoctrination and a redistribution of wealth.  With the guarantee of those "rights" there is no incentive to excel because if you do excel the ruling class would take from you and give to those who did nothing so as to guarantee equality of outcome not equal opportunity.   Our nation is founded on equal opportunity not guaranteed equality of outcome.   These are rights that would make everyone beholden to the government and take away the opportunities, rights and liberties intended by our founders.
